ISSUE: the newgrp(1) command doesn't function properly. PLATFORM: HP9000 servers running HP-UX release 11.11. POSSIBLE RESULT: Users could gain increased capability. SOLUTION: Apply patches for HP-UX releases as follows: for 11.11: PHCO_23083. AVAILABILITY: The patch is available now. I. A. Background Hewlett-Packard Company has become aware of a defect in the newgrp(1) command in only the HP-UX release 11.11. B. Fixing the problem can be fully resolved by applying the patch to your system. For HP-UX releases 11.11: PHCO_23083. C.
